BCCI announced on Monday that Indian Women will host England Women for a three-match ODI series in April as a part of the ICC Women’s Championship. The series will be played after the completion of T20I tri-series also featuring Australia.
“The England Women’s Cricket Team that will tour India in March 2018 to take part in the T20I tri-series featuring India Women and Australia Women will also play a three-match ODI series as part of a bilateral agreement between the two Boards. The ODI series between India Women and England Women will be played after the completion of the T20I series.”, BCCI told in their media release.
India still hasn’t played any matches after the World Cup final and will play their ICC Women’s Championship opener in South Africa from February 5 to 10 next year. After that India will host Australia for a three-match ODI series from March 12 to 18.
The opening match will be played on 8th April. The second and the third ODI will be played on 11th April and 14th April respectively. The venue and the squad for the series haven’t been announced yet.
England and India last met during the ICC Women’s World Cup final this year. India defeated England in their first match but lost to them in the final. Now, this is payback time for India and it will be interesting to watch whether India will be able to turn the table or not.
