India clinch a three-run win against the Proteas in an unofficial warm-up match

India won the toss and chose to bat first. Jemimah Rodrigues smashed a quickfire 50 from 44 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes. Along with her, captain Harmanpreet Kaur too hit 31 from 29. Wicketkeeper-batter Taniya Bhatia chipped in with 26 runs from 21 balls and India posted a decent competitive total of 146/4 at the end of their 20 overs.
Although there were some missed opportunities with the fielding, the bowlers tried their best to restrict India within the 150 mark. Masabata Klaas picked up 2 wickets in three overs while Tumi Sekhukhune and Marizanne Kapp bagged one each.
Chasing 147, South Africa lost their opener Lizelle Lee for 9. Captain Dane van Niekerk smashed a 35 from 22 balls with 5 fours and a six before getting dismissed by Radha Yadav.
Number three batter, Laura Wolvaardt scored the highest runs for South Africa, 42 off 45. Their batting order started trembling when they lost two wickets in quick succession, Sune Luus for 6 and Mignon du Preez for 1.
Vice-captain Chloe Tryon then scored a 17-ball 23 before Anuja Patil dismissed her. Marizanne Kapp tried her best and added 18 from 12 deliveries but South Africa lost the battle by 3 runs.
For India, Radha Yadav scalped 3 wickets where Patil took 2.
