Prior to the World T20, India team was set to attend a six-day camp, which was about to begin on Tuesday at MCA's Wankhede Stadium. But the camp started one day later at Brabourne Stadium because the team could not train at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium due to the ongoing fight between the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and the BCCI regarding the hosting rights of the men's ODI against Windies on October 29.

The fight between BCCI and the Mumbai Cricket Association started after the fourth ODI between India men's team and Windies team was shifted from Wankhede Stadium to the Cricket Club of India because of the absence of signatories in the MCA. MCA is currently without a head, after the end of the term on September 15 of two retired judges of Committee of Administrators (CoA), Hemant Gokhale and VM Kanade.

As stated in the Indian Express, former India player and CoA member, Diana Edulji was not happy with the event. "I'm very upset that the Indian women's team could not start the camp over the venue issue and I don't think this treatment would ever be meted out to Virat Kohli's men's team. Why these different set of rules for men and women?" She told.

"The camp should have started. It's preparation for the World Cup, no less. Is this the way the women's team are going to be treated? CoA has given clear directions that the camp should happen today. Why did this situation arise? Why didn't GM (Operations) manage this? He gave us the assurance that he is working on it." She further added.

BCCI GM, cricket operations, Saba Karim told to The Times of India, "We’re shifted the camp to the CCI, for the time being,"

This camp will play a pivotal role in India's preparation before the mega event. The team has already got the big blow when the three-match T20I series against West Indies has been called off due to financial issues. India have a not-so-good record in the World T20 as they have failed to qualify for the knockouts since 2012. India reached the semis in the two inaugural editions of the tournament in 2009 and 2010.

Their two official World T20 warm-up games will start from November 4 with the first one against defending champions West Indies in Antigua, and the second one against 50-over champions England on November 7 in Guyana. India will start their World T20 campaign against New Zealand on November 9 at Providence Stadium, Guyana.
