This was the last match of Bangladesh A tour of India. Indians were confident to continue their winning streak and whitewash the visiting team as the did in ODI series. Bangladesh was aiming to finish with a win so that they could turn their heads up as they return home. Bangladesh A won the toss & elected to bat first. Sarmin and Murshida opened the innings but Murshida couldn’t stay long as Patil took her first wicket in the fourth over. Bangladesh A soon lost quick wickets and were 28 for 3 in 7.2 overs.Rumana played a silent innings from one end and kept the scoreboard ticking scoring 46 off 45.

 

Once again Bangladesh failed to put up a big score.At the end of the innings Bangladesh was 112/7. Rumana 46(45) and Salma 21(17) were the top scorers of the Bangladesh. Anuja Patil and T.P Kanwer bagged 2 wickets each. Other bowlers went wicket less. India’s brilliancy in field got them 3 run outs. Now it was the turn of the Indian batters. This time Ramya and Devika Vaidya opened the innings for India. They tried to give a good start but Devika got bowled by Nahida’ s stunner in the 5th over of the innings. Ramya also failed to deliver and got stumped by Nigar Joty. Bangladesh never let the Indian batters settle down.Captain Anuja Patil and wicket keeper batter Taniya Bhatia fell for a diamond duck. After 9.2 overs Indians were 42/4.

 

All the Indian batters struggled to find runs and could only manage 73 for 8 in the stipulated 20 overs.Bangladesh was happy as their heroics on the field let them to win the first match of the series.Ramya 19(26) was the highest run scorer for the Indian team.As we look over the Bangladesh bowling, Nahida took 2 wickets & Shaila bagged a single one.

 

Overall this match was influenced by some quality fielding as we witnessed 7 run out in the match.Though India lost the match, but they won the series 2-1.India white washed Bangladesh 3-0 in ODI ’S but fell short to repeat the same in the T20s.Bangladesh have something to cherish before they head home.This was a great initiative by the BCCI to organize the tour which enhances the skills of the youngsters. Hope we will see more such tournaments in the near future.

Bangladesh won the match by 39 runs.

India won the series 2-1.
