After India A whitewashed Bangladesh A in the One Day series, Indians were confident while Bangladesh were keen for a fresh start in the T20 series.The 1st step went right for the struggling Bangladeshi team when they won the toss and elected to bat first. Bangladesh openers Sarmin Sultana and Fargana started the play but Jemimah’ s throw led India to their 1st wicket on the 3rd ball of the innings.It was the 2nd over when Anuja Patil took the wicket of Shaila Shamrin who got out for a golden duck. After 2 early wickets, in-form batter Rumana Ahmed came down to the crease. Steady partnership was going on between Fargana Hoque and Rumana Ahmed until Fargana got caught by wicket-keeper Taniya Bhatia.Rumana Ahmed played well from one end but couldn’t help as she was falling short of partners and ultimately lost her wicket. It didn’t take much time for India to knock off the lower middle order.

 

Bangladesh was all out on just a mere score of 57 in the 17th over.Anuja Patil and Radha Yadav bagged 2 wickets each while Kanwer, Hemalatha and Pooja got a single wicket. Radha Yadav was the most impressive bowler by taking 2 wickets at the economy of 1.00 in her complete spell.

 

Now it was the turn of Indian batters. It was a low score for India to defend and they didn’t disappoint. Vanitha VR & S Meghana opened the innings.It was the 3rd over that Khadiza got Bangladesh their 1st breakthrough by taking wicket of the in-form batter Vanitha VR. Wicket keeper batter Taniya Bhatia came to the crease and soon left after Rumana Ahmed knocked her bails down. S Meghana didn’t lose her flow and along with Indian all-rounder Devika Vaidya stirred the innings smoothly as India won the match in the 11th over. For Bangladesh, KT Kubra and Rumana Ahmed got a wicket each. However that wasn’t enough as India sealed a comfortable victory.

 

India are 1-0 in the series with 2 matches to go.

India A win by 8 wickets and lead series 1-0.
