ICC T20 World Cup America Qualifiers to begin on October 18 in Mexico

Brazil will take on the United States of America in the opening game of 2021 ICC T20 World Cup America Qualifiers on October 18 in Mexico, as per the latest report by CZARSPORTZ. Argentina and Canada will play against each other in the second fixture.



Earlier, the tournament was supposed to take place between September 11 to 18, 2021, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travel and safety restrictions in the United States.



Brazil will be coming into the tournament as the 2019 South American Champions, having defeated Argentina in the final The 2020 edition was called off due to the pandemic.



Speaking about the Qualifiers, Cricket Argentia stated that they are delighted to have a chance to prove themselves against the best in the region. "We have strengthened our domestic competition, and we believe that this is the perfect goal to complete the pathway for the women."



The last edition of America Qualifiers happened in 2019, where the USA and Canada played against each other thrice, and the former qualified for the ICC global qualifiers. 



Each team will play against the other twice, and the team that tops the league will qualify for the global event. With Brazil and Argentina added to the tournament, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top this year.



Regarding the qualifiers, Cricket Brasil said in a statement that it was a pleasure for them to be a part of this pathway. "It is important for all of us to have this opportunity and start structuring our development for high performance as well as increased participation, national leagues and coaching education."
