New Update
While a lot of current buzz about the Women’s game is around the World T20 to be hosted by the West Indies this year, let it be reminded that we are only two years away from the next edition.

The changing vagaries of this sport leave little to chance or imagination. Therefore, catering to testing demands of the modern game, women’s cricket in its fight to surge past biases, fallouts in public perception and lack of wider reception will have another onerous challenge to contest in.

The Women’s World T20 2020.

It is the little irony that we are only a few seasons away from 2020, where cricket’s most electrifying and newest format shall yet again unfurl mega battles at the T20 stage. The fireworks, this time, are slated to take place Down Under.

The ICC earlier this week confirmed that eight cities in Australia shall host the coveted ICC World T20 2020. Fans can expect packed grounds of Sydney, Perth, Hobart, Canberra, Geelong, Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne to host the world’s 10 women’s team in a titanic contest where the best in the world will engage in a tug of war between the bat and ball.

It has been reported that the women’s game will run from 21 February to March 8 and for a period of two exciting weeks fans will eagerly await the triumph of the toughest amidst a template of cricketing uncertainty. It ought to be asked if the T20 DNA isn’t about uncertainty or unpredictable outcomes then what is?

While the semi-finals will be hosted on consecutive days at the revered SCG (Sydney Cricket Ground), the mecca of cricket- MCG- shall produce what’ll hopefully be the mother of all cricketing battles: the Women’s World T20 2020 finals. That being said, it is expected that March 8, 2020 will be deciding day for the fortune of the Women’s game as cricketing fraternity shall work toward a common direction. That of making the D-day of the world cup marked with a world record-attendance count.

But to speak of Australia that has had a world-class record of organizing fantastic grandiose cricketing events, fans would expect the hosts to be the irrepressible force in the sport at the highest level. And there’s hardly a doubt about their talent as of those of other top-notch stables such as India, England and, South Africa.

But a sport that comes down harshly on mediocrity it is an established fact that those who keep their nerves in pressure situations will go the long way in T20. Till then, we will have to watch closely and monitor the progress of all women’s sides as they battle for supremacy in cricket’s briefest format. For starters, the 2018 World Cup form will be telling.
