Sophie Molineux has been selected ahead of experienced spinner Jess Jonassen in the playing XI of Australia's two group matches. Molineux had some mixed feeling for that as the veteran has been sidelined. Molineux made her debut against India in March and had a greater responsibility, while Jonassen was recovering from her knee surgery during Australia's series against New Zealand and Pakistan.

Jonassen rejoined the squad in the last match of the Pakistan series. Australia's bowlers are all in a great form currently–Molineux, Georgia Wareham and Ashleigh Gardner as spinners and Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt and Delissa Kimmince as pace bowlers. To add Jonassen, someone who had to miss the World T20 opener against Pakistan and the selectors chose the winning combo.

"There was a bit of mixed emotion," Molineux told. "I love having Jono (Jonassen) around the squad, she's been really good to me. We have had a lot of great conversations about left-arm off-spin and it's hard to see Jono running drinks."

"But at the same time she's been really supportive of me and I'm really thankful for that, and she's been really great around the squad," she further added. "I'm sure she'll get her chance and she'll take it with both hands."

"I suppose that's the way it is at the moment with this setup, the squad is in a really good place and it is hard to pick an XI each game."

While talking about her World Cup journey, she shared, "I have loved it over here," she said. "I'm really enjoying going out in the green and gold and playing in a World Cup, it's pretty surreal and I'm still pinching myself that I'm here. But I'm really enjoying it and hopefully, I'll turn a few balls."

Australia will face New Zealand on November 13 at Providence Stadium, Guyana.
