High rewards for Team Bangladesh following Asia Cup triumph

Following Bangladesh’s historic win over 6-time defending champions, India in Asia Cup 2018, their players are getting some well-deserved recognition and are being rewarded for accomplishing such a remarkable feat.



Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Monday, 11th June, that team Bangladesh will receive Taka 2 Crores as a prize from the Board. This money will not only help the women’s team financially but, will also give them further incentive continue their winning ways and making their country proud. The winning Captain, Salma Khatun said herself “Naturally it is a big incentive. It will not only boost our image but this kind of recognition will help the development of women’s cricket in the country.”



Indeed, that is what has happened as the teams triumph has led Biren Sikder, Minister for Youth and Sports to announce a dedicated academy be built for the National Women’s team. He declared this in the following statement “We are proud of their performance. We would like to create a dedicated academy for the women cricketers.”



As per news in Cricbuzz, The President of BCB, Nazimul Hasan told reporters “I cannot describe, in words, the joy we had in seeing them perform in this manner. They worked really hard and their efforts need to be recognized.” Coming into the tournament as underdogs, the Bangladeshi team caused upset after upset to reign supreme. They have made their country proud, they have shown to the world how talented they are and have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with. They truly deserve such high praise and reward.
