The champion of the second and third season of Women's Big Bash League, Sydney Sixers, announced a two-year deal with two youngsters - Hayley Silver-Holmes and Stella Campbell.

All-rounder Silver-Holmes, 15, is the youngest player to sign a contract with Sydney Sixers. At the age of 14, she became the youngest member of the Australia Under-19 team which toured to South Africa earlier this year. She has been playing in the Parramatta under-18s team and captained the Parramatta and NSW under-15 sides as well. Earlier, Hayley was being signed with the Sydney Thunder for a rookie contract too.

Silver-Holmes excited about this contract, said, “It’s a very exciting time for myself and for my cricket. I’m really looking forward to being part of such a great team but also the challenge ahead. I will be pushing myself hard this summer, and listening to and learning from my experienced team-mates."

Along with her,  fast bowler Campbell too will join the team with experienced players like Ellyse Perry and Alyssa Healy. She has represented New South Wales Under 18 team and had an excellent performance on her International debut for the Australian Under 19 team in a nine-run victory over England Academy in South Africa.

Excited Campbell addressed the media, “It’s pretty surreal feeling to be joining such a successful team. There is so much experience in the squad and I can’t wait to pick their brains this season to help improve my own game.”

Sydney Sixers' Head Coach Ben Sawyer told, "I had the privilege of working with both girls during the Australian under-19’s Tour of South Africa earlier this year. On this tour, both girls showed tremendous skill, but more importantly a great work ethic and a desire to improve their games. Their enthusiasm to learn more about the game will serve them well during Big Bash, and their careers in general."

General Manager of the Sydney Sixers, Jodie Hawkins said, "Both Hayley and Stella are mature young women who will add great depth to the Sixers squad. We have discussed their time commitments around schooling and ensuring they continue to put their education first and look forward to supporting them with their parents in the seasons ahead.”

Sydney Sixers will start their campaign in WBBL 04 on December 1, Saturday, at Junction Oval, Melbourne, against Melbourne Stars.
