Harmanpreet bags bat endorsement deal with CEAT

The Indian women’s cricket team’s star all-rounder, Harmanpreet Kaur, who guided India to the final of the ICC World Cup 2017, became the first women cricketer from the country to sign a bat endorsement deal with CEAT. The deal comes almost six months after the Indian women’s team returned from a successful World cup campaign.The Arjuna awardee signed a two-year deal with CEAT, and joins the likes of star cricketers Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane. She will now be seen playing with a bat, displaying a CEAT sticker on it. CEAT has also sponsored T20 specialist Suresh Raina in past.



 



Harmanpreet‘s consistent performances in past years and her heroic innings of 171* in ICC Women’s World cup 2017 semifinal let her to bag this deal. Harman is known for her hard hitting abilities, and is the vice-captain of the Indian women ODI team and captain of the T20 team. She was the first Indian cricketer from India who was signed by the international franchise Sydney Thunder to play in the 2016-17 Women’s Big Bash League.



 



When asked to Harmanpreet, she said, “I am delighted to be associated with CEAT that is already represented by icons of Indian cricket. Taking the momentum of 2017, I look forward to put on same performances for the team this year also”. Vice President Marketing, CEAT Limited, Nitish Bajaj said: “The Indian Women’s cricket team has been performing consistently over the years and we CEAT strongly believe in supporting the sport. We are proud to sign Harmanpreet Kaur as our first women cricketer, who has been an idol to budding cricketers.”



 



Along with Harman there are also some star players who signed the various endorsement deals after the successful stint of World Cup. Indian openers Smriti Mandhana and Punam Raut have signed a deal with “Hero Motocorp”. Indian Captain Mithali Raj is also sponsored by “DSC” and “Zeven”. Indian women’s team wicketkeeper, Sushma Verma, is managed by “Puma” and “BAS”. Alfa wolf of the Women's team Veda Krishnamurthy is signed by Gray-Nicolls.This is the effect of consistent performances throughout the years, which has led women cricketers to achieve new heights, and make India proud.
