After a gap of three months, India's domestic season has started with a bang with the Senior Women's One day League.  On the very first day, ten matches were played all over the country.

Railways vs Goa: Raut's ton, Poonam's Six-for guide Railways to a comfortable win

Punam Raut's century, captain Mithali Raj's 62 off 68 and Poonam Yadav's six-for helped Railways dominate against Goa as the side was bowled out on 72. Goa won the toss and chose to field first. Once Railways opener Shweta was dismissed in the 16th over, Punam Raut (91) and Mithali Raj added 146 for the second wicket to get the scorecard going. Mona Meshram also scored a quick 32 and Railways put up a total of 244 at the end of their allotted overs.

Sanjula Naik picked up 2 wickets, while Nikita and Pubali bagged one wicket each for Goa.

In reply, Goa lost their opener Sanjula Naik on a duck. However, Purvaja and Sunanda started to steady the ship but legspinner Poonam Yadav completed a six-wicket haul to leave Goa reeling. Fall of the wickets at regular interval didn't allow Goa to resurrect the innings. Yadav ended with 6 for 8 in her 10 overs with 6 maidens as Railways bagged a giant victory of 172 runs over Goa.

Along with Yadav's six-wicket haul, Arundhati Reddy and Kavita Patil bagged one wicket each for Railways.

Railways 244/4 (P Raut 104, S Naik 2/60) beat Goa 72/10 (P Varlekar 15, P Yadav 6/8) by 172 runs.
