If anyone knows the importance of momentum going into a World Cup, it is Ellyse Perry, the Australian all-rounder. Australia goes into the three-match T20 international series against New Zealand. Perry spoke about this issue and making the North Sydney Oval the home for women's international cricket in Australia.

Of the importance of the series against New Zealand, "It's a really important three-match series for us especially leading into the , to get some momentum over earlier now before we go to the West Indies. It's going to be a big challenge."

Australia is not taking New Zealand for granted and are a team that they are aware of.  "They've got some wonderful players. There is a little bit of unknown about their team with some new players, some fresh and exciting faces."

While New Zealand has new players in their squad, so do Australia. Perry was full of praise for the new faces, Tayla Vlaeminck and Georgia Wareham, who are set to win their first caps.

"Tayla and Georgia are pretty young, but the way they compete. It is nice to have a couple of fresh faces in the squad. That always adds a bit of excitement to the group. But also, we've got a lot of familiar faces who have played a lot of cricket together and love playing together – it's a really good blend."

Perry was full of praise for the North Sydney Oval. She said “I’d love to think that North Sydney Oval is the Australian women’s cricket ground. Every year, if we play here, it’s going to be a special event and something people love to come down to."

What we are all hoping for is that this is the start of an exciting time for international cricket. If Perry is anything to go by, we could well see it.
