Debbie Hockley, former New Zealand captain, has been re-elected as the president of New Zealand Cricket (NZC) for a a second three-year term at the Annual General Meeting in Auckland on Wednesday (November 13).



At the meeting, three new life members, including former batter Judi McCarthy (nee Doull), were elected. The other two members are former Test spinner, John Bracewell, and former Test batsman, Jeff Crowe. McCarthy played 11 Tests for New Zealand, scoring one hundred and five half-centuries. She also played five ODIs and worked for a brief while as New Zealand women’s team manager, and as a board member of Central Districts.



In addition, to recognise their outstanding services to New Zealand Cricket, seven honorary members comprising Ann McKenna, Bev Brentnall, Brent Bowden, Ewen Chatfield, John F Reid, Lance Cairns and Shane Bond, were appointed.



At the meeting, two new directors - Jackie Lloyd and Kevin Malloy - were elected to the eight-member board of NZC, replacing outgoing directors Neil Craig and Ingrid Cronin-Knight.



Lloyd comes with an extensive background in private and public organisations, while Malloy has been a prominent personality in the advertising and marketing industries. Furthermore, Greg Barclay, who retired by rotation and stood for re-election, returned as chairman at the new board’s first meeting immediately following the AGM formalities.
