Right-arm off-spinner of England, Danielle Hazell, has joined the Adelaide Strikers for the upcoming season of Women's Big Bash League. Hazell has played in 3 Tests, 53 ODIs and 82 T20Is so far, has more than 550 runs and 145 scalped to her name.

She was a part of Smriti Mandhana led Trailblazers team in the Women’s Exhibition Match in India. She also recently captained the Lancashire Thunder in the Kia Super League.

While talking about this, Hazell expressed her excitement. "I’m very excited to be involved (in the WBBL). I had a little taste of it a few years ago and enjoyed it, so I’m looking forward to a full season. To play in a new environment and learn from different players is always exciting, and it’s great to play with different spinners to see how they go about their game.”

Head Coach of Adelaide Strikers, Andrea McCauley said, "It’s great to have another spinner – I really like spin as an option in the T20 game. Dani is very experienced and has always competed well against Australia. She’s often been a thorn in the side of the Aussies so I felt like she could be a real weapon for us."

She further added, "She has a lot of international experience and has also captained England on occasions, so she is clearly held in high regard by England Cricket."

The Adelaide Strikers will begin their WBBL campaign on 2 December against Brisbane Heat at Junction Oval, Melbourne.
