Cricket Hong Kong launches Women's Premier League

A few days back, Cricket Hong Kong (CHK) announced the Women’s Premier League – an addition to the country’s new domestic schedule. The tournament will see two teams competing against each other in three games, squads of which have been announced on Thursday (October 8). The tournament will involved two 35 over games and a forty over a side contest.



While the current national team skipper Kary Chan will lead the Bauhinia Stars with Connie Wong acting as her deputy, Jade Jets will be led by veteran Hong Kong international Pull-To. She will be assisted by former ECB Women’s Development Squad and Hong Kong international Jasmine Titmuss.

Both the teams are filled with international stars with an eye at Philippines international Jennifer Alumbro, who has played four T20Is. She will represent Bauhinia Stars. Current CHK assistant coach Ghulam Saqlain will take care of Bauhinia Stars while the Jade Jets will be coached by Niaz Ali, the current Director of Cricket at Lantau CC.

Bauhinia Stars: Kary Chan (c), Connie Wong (vc), Shanzeen Shahzad, Jenefer Davies, Akasha Yousaf, Alison Siu, Amanda Cheung, Dorothea Chan, Emma Lai, Jaswinder Kaur, Jennifer Alumbro, Maheen Haider, Maryam Bibi, Mehreen Yousaf and Ruchitha Venkatesh.



Jade Jets: Pull To (c), Jasmine Titmuss (vc), Lemon Cheung, Sukhjit Gill, Annie Ho, Ashley Hung, Betty Chan, Chan Sau Ha, Iqra Sahar, Keenu Gill, Mariko Hill, Rajvir Kaur, Rida Haider, Roisin O’Connor and Tammy Chu.
