USA extended their winning run, thanks to their clinical bowling performance, while Brazil registered their first win of the tournament in the ICC T20 World Cup Americas Qualifiers on Tuesday (October 19).

In the first match of the day, Brazil rolled all over their South American neighbours as Argentina were all out for 12 in 11.2 overs. Lara Moises and Renata Sousa picked up two wickets each for Brazil. Despite losing back-to-back wickets in the second over, Brazil chased down the target with ease in 3.3 overs.

Meanwhile, Canada lost Achini Perera early against USA. Miryam Khokhar and Divya Saxena stuck together, building a partnership. Though the former was run out by Tara Norris for 23 runs from 30 balls, Saxena hung in there.

She held forte at one end while the batters were walking in and out at the other. Saxena remained not out till the end, scoring 22 runs from 38 balls. Canada finished with 70 for nine in 20 overs. Suhani Thadani took two for seven in her four overs for USA.

Aiming to carry on the momentum from the previous game, USA openers Shebani Bhaskar and Gargi Bhogle started slow and steady in the chase. They took their time to settle while putting away the bad deliveries.

The duo made sure that USA did not lose any wickets and took the team across the line in 10.5 overs. Bhaskar scored 21 runs from 28 balls, and Bhogle made a 37-ball 39. USA is at the opt of the points table with two wins from two matches so far.
