Bismah Maroof has returned to the 15-member squad for the upcoming World T20 in West Indies, starting from November 9, after her recovery from sinus surgery. Maroof, the regular skipper of Pakistan, has stepped down from the captain's role for the World T20 and Javeria Khan, who led the team in Maroof's absence in the recently concluded Bangladesh and Australia series, will continue to do so.

Earlier this month, Pakistan had announced a 15-member squad for the World T20 without the captain's name as PCB was waiting for Maroof's fitness report. After Maroof returned, Sidra Ameen found herself out of the squad; who was initially included in the 15-member squad.

Bismah Maroof is the highest run-getter for Pakistan in T20Is with 1641 runs and a handy leg-spinner with 33 wickets. She has captained her side in 22 games, in which they have won 9 games. Her experience will help her team to go a long way. Whereas Javeria Khan has led Pakistan in six matches - three against Bangladesh, which they won, and three against Australia, which they lost.

Pakistan will play two warm-up matches prior to the World T20 against South Africa and Bangladesh, on November 3 and 6, respectively. They will start their campaign against three-time champions Australia on November 9 at Providence Stadium, Guyana.
