Indian opener Smriti Mandhana was signed as the Brand Ambassador of BATA sportswear brand “POWER”, starting this month. She is the first sportswoman and female cricketer to be endorsed by the leading Indian footwear brand. Along with this, she is sponsored by Baseline Venture, Nike, and Hero.

Smriti rose to fame with her splendid knock in the World-cup (WWC-2017) last year, against West Indies. With India’s successful run at the World cup, the entire team got a rousing welcome and also due recognition in the form of endorsements:

Skipper Mithali Raj was the front-runner when she signed several endorsements and Vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur also signed a couple of deals last year and is already a brand ambassador for Nike. Indian Wicket-keeper Sushma Verma is also sponsored by the famous brand Puma.

Bata is one of the leading manufacturers of footwear, which set up its operations in 1931 and it continues to be India’s favorite brand. The 21-year-old cricketer is in great form at the on-going series in South Africa, where she hit 84 in the first match and a sparkling 135 runs in the second.

Smriti also expressed that since the brand is associated with the goal of fitness, she claims that it reflects her personal style and values.
