Bangladesh to travel to Pakistan with interim team management

New Update
Anju Jain, Bangladesh head coach - along with two other members of the support staff - has opted out from traveling to Pakistan. In the wake of her decision, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to appoint an interim team management for the national team.

The cricketing board has worked out with the former head coach Dipu Roy Chowdhury for the tour that consists three T20Is and two ODIs scheduled from October 26 to November 5. Furthermore, veteran coach Imdadul Haq and Anowar Hossain will act as the deputy of Chowdhury and trainer during the tour, respectively.

"This is not in our hands (Indian coaches travelling to Pakistan). It is more or less a diplomatic issue," former national opener Javed Omar, who has been appointed the team manager, told Cricbuzz on Sunday (September 29).

BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury nullified any security threats, saying the board is in contact with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) is also monitoring the tour.

"We are in touch with PCB and we want to know what kind of security measures they have taken for the Sri Lankan team during the ongoing tour. The ICC is also monitoring everything," he pointed out.
