A brilliant half-century from Ayesha Zafar and a swashbuckling knock from Iram Javed helped the PCB Dynamites register a seven-wicket win against the PCB Blasters in the inaugural game of the National Triangular T20 Women's Cricket Championship 2020 on Sunday (November 22).

Chasing close to seven runs an over, Nahida Khan and Zafar went after the Dynamites bowlers from ball one. They made the most out of the fielding restrictions by adding 45 runs in the powerplay. Brought in to break the partnership, Hafsa Amjad got rid of Nahida for ten from 15 balls. Anam Amin removed Omaima Sohail leaving the Dynamites in a spot of bother.

However, Iram Javed and Zafar got together and put up a partnership. Ayesha anchored the chase for the Dynamites as hit a flurry of boundaries. She made 62 from before getting out to Maham Tariq.

Javed, at the other end, smashed four sixes and a boundary in her 30-ball 40 as she got her team across the line with five balls to spare. Amjad was the pick of the bowlers for the Blasters as she gave away 19 runs in four overs including the crucial wicket of Nahida.

Earlier, after asked to bat, the Blasters openers got them off to a good start adding 36 runs in the first six overs. Soon after the powerplay ended, Nashra Sandhu trapped Amjad in front of the stumps for a 17-ball 18.

Sidra Amin fell shortly after courtesy to a brilliant fielding effort from Diana Baig. Javeria Khan and Javeria Rauf tried to get the innings going for the Blasters.

Just when they were gaining some momentum, Khan was caught behind off Rameen Shamim for 29 from 36 balls. Joined by skipper Aliya Riyaz, Rauf picked some crucial boundaries while keeping the scoreboard moving with singles and doubles.

They added 45 runs before Rauf was dismissed for a 32-ball 35 by Kainat Imtiaz. Some late hitting from Riaz and Natalia Pervaiz helped them get to 137 for four in 20 overs.

Brief Scores: PCB Blasters 137/4 in 20 overs (Javeria Rauf 35, Alia Riaz 34, Kainat Imtiaz 1/22) lost to PCB Dynamites  138/3 in 19.1 overs (Ayesha Zafar 60, Iram Javed 40, Hafsa Amjad 1/19) by seven wickets. PoTM: Ayesha Zafar
