Australia sit pretty atop the ODI and T20I rankings

To say Australia are the best team in the world is an understatement of sorts. They have dominated the year 2019 thrashing their opponents with absolute disdain. In the latest ICC rankings Australia top both the white-ball formats - ODI and T20I - with a clear lead of 26 and 14 points respectively.



In ODIs India are ranked second in the points table. They though have a chance to reduce the points deficit as they face South Africa this week in a three-match ODI series to be played in Baroda.



Australia are defending champions of the 2018 World T20 and head into the next edition in 2020 way ahead of the rest of the pack. They now have 292 points with England holding on to the second position.



Though there are no changes at the top of the T20I table, Thailand have moved to within four points of 10^th placed Ireland after a remarkable run saw them win a world record 17 consecutive matches earlier this year, breaking the previous record of 16 successive wins by Australia.
