Southern Brave have announced the signing of England pacer Anya Shrubsole and star batter Danielle Wyatt for the inaugural edition of The Hundred in 2021. Along with them, the Brave have signed five local players in Maia Bouchier, Freya Kemp, Tara Norris, Carla Rudd and Paige Scholfield.
Speaking about the signing Wyatt said that she is delighted to be a part of the Brave. "Our squad is looking strong already with a mixture of quality local players and world-class cricketers like Anya Shrubsole and Stafanie Taylor already confirmed," said the England opener.

The right-hander also said that The Hundred would be great for the women’s sport adding, "I can’t wait to take part next summer, and help inspire a new generation to watch and play the game.”
While Shrubsole is the leading wicket-taker for England in the shortest format with 102 wickets in 79 matches, Wyatt is third in the run-getters list with 1630 runs in 113 matches and has the highest T20I strike rate (122.74) among those who has batted at least in 10 innings for England.

The five local players were a part of Southern Vipers' victorious campaign in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy earlier this year. Bouchier scored 183 runs in seven matches, and medium-pacers Norris and Schofield took 12 and nine wickets respectively in the tournament.
All seven players would be joining the West Indies all-rounder Stafanie Taylor who was retained by the Souther Brave earlier.
