Alyssa Healy, bowlers take Australia to a comfortable victory

Alyssa Healy’s sixth half-century during their game against New Zealand helped Australia to win by 33 runs at the Providence Stadium, Guyana on November 9.

Schutt dealt an early blow to WHITE FERNS' hopes when she trapped Anna Peterson on the leg before off the fourth ball of the first over. Soon, Devine followed her. She missed Perry's full-length delivery and got dismissed. Sophie Molineux trapped Amy Satterthwaite in a length ball while reverse sweeping and soon they reduced to 13/3 after 3 overs.

Suzie Bates stood strong at the other end and tried to build a partnership with Katey Martin. Martin smashed two back to back boundaries in the 10th over by Perry, whereas another chance was missed by the keeper there. Martin's 24 off 20 came to an end by Healy's quick glove-work.

Australia bowlers didn't allow the WHITE FERNS long time at the crease. Delissa Kimmince struck again as she picked up Maddy Green and Bezuidenhout in the same over. By the end of the 14th over, West Indies were six down for 96.

WHITE FERNS had not recovered to their batting collapse when the pace spearhead Megan Schutt picked up Kasperek and Rowe in the same over. Molineux took Amelia Kerr in the next over, effectively ending the contest, where the top scorer was Suzie Bates with a 42 ball 48.

Earlier, Meg Lanning chose to bat first after winning the toss. 18-years old Amelia Kerr opened the attack for New Zealand and nearly created a dismissal chance in the very first over but missed it. Later on, Kerr has dropped a simple catch at cover region. In-form openers Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney both got lives and utilised the chances pretty well.

Just when both the players got settled in, Mooney gave a straight catch to Bates at long-off after scoring 26 off 24. Lanning too couldn't do well and fell for 5. Once Healy, got her eye in, it became difficult to get past her bat as she played strokes all around the ground. she scored another ravishing half-century which is her third consecutive half-century. Villani too chipped in with 14 off 11.

Australia put up 82 runs after the completion of 10 overs with the loss of 1 wicket; whereas they scored 76 runs after their allotted overs as they managed to put up 153 on board.
