A child prodigy, Tyron chose cricket as her passion from a young age.

In her debut match for South Africa, she became the first and only woman cricketer to take a wicket with the very first ball of her career in T20 history. However, after that, she suffered a career-threatening back injury and took a year off from International cricket to get back to the game which she loves the most, by defying all the odds.

Tyron is a middle-order destructive batswoman, whose role in most circumstances is to finish the innings or post a competitive total. Some of her memorable innings were against England at the WWC-2017, and during a match against India in 2018, where her hard-hitting abilities were on full display.

She currently holds the highest batting strike-rate of 457.14, which is the highest ever by a cricket player, male or female. Tyron, along with Suné Luus, also set the record for the highest ever 6th wicket partnership in the history of women’s ODIs (142 runs).

Her strong areas are targeting the boundaries, especially in the deep covers and long-off region. She has been an integral part of South Africa’s squad for the World-Cup for the 2014 and 2017 editions.

She also plays county cricket for the KwaZulu-Natal team and has an average of over 40. She is yet to get signed for International leagues like the WBBL and KSL.
